I drew this while pregnant with my daughter. At first, I didn't know what it was, but as the drawing started taking shape I realized I was drawing an umbilical cord. This extraordinary bond between me and her. Between all (pregnant) mothers that have ever lived and their offspring. Day by day, breath by breath, life is being created inside us. And I believe this still applies to all of us once we are out of the womb and into this world, through our choices and our chances.
