All the Love Under the Sun
This illustration is part of About Motherhood, a collection of illustrations inspired by motherhood.
I created this piece when I was a new mother myself so inspiration was easy to come by as motherhood has just started unfolding in my life. I wanted to represent these new beginnings, my daughter's and mine. As Osho said:
“The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new."
I wanted to express protection, warmth, shelter and this powerful energy, ignited by love. Here, the hands are wings and mountains. Our hands can mean and do so much: soothe, guide, deliver, hold. The sun stands for beginnings, creation, source. The text says: all the love under the sun
